Presidio golf course is a public, parkland golf course in San Francisco. Formerly restricted to Officers and Club Members, the course is now opened to the public. It's quite technically challenging, as the Black tees have slope of 135, the highest for a public course in the city, it's especially challenging for bogey golfers.
Presidio is notable for it's deep and intricate bunkering. Only a single hole (#5) is free of these. Play out of sand will be essential.
Dramatic elevation changes are also essential to playing well. From the first tee, to the uphill, bending seventeenth, over half the holes will require dramatic adjustment for shots to land well above or below the player.
The course is also home to a popular driving range, putting, and chipping practice area.
