Northwood Golf Club is a popular golf course in Monte Rio along the Russian River. The course is notable for being an Alister MacKenzie course open to the public, and is one of the more notable courses in the entire region. The Russian River Valley is a popular destination, so the course can be quite empty during the week, but completely booked on the weekends.

The course is a 9 hole course, that strongly features redwood trees throughout the course. This presents a unique hazard to players who are typically able to get their shots high above the trees. The course is incredibly beautiful, especially when the sun is low and coming through the trees.

Northwood Restaurant, adjacent, is a charming rustic restaurant popular with golfers and locals alike.
