Hole 5 Discussion

The fifth is a par 5 that forces tradeoffs between length and the narrowness that the redwoods present. The longest hitters should be able to reach the green in two, but doing so is incredibly risky.

The tee shot plays through a narrow gap that opens up into a larger landing area. There isn’t much room to miss left, but only slightly more room to miss right. The fairway is rather irregular in sections and lies will be a bit uneven.

The second shot is defined by which side you want to approach the green from. With bunkers on the left, the right side may be preferred, but the rough encroaches from the right about 100 yards out from the green.

The approach shot should be fairly straight forward. Missing long is dangerous as there is a paved area behind the backside of the green. The green is very sloped and can be challenging if you miss the correct tier.
