The course sits alongside Jamestown Park, which features a playground, basketball courts, football/soccer fields, a baseball field, and picnic shelters.
Being a municipal course, Jamestown Park is a relatively beginner-friendly course, with mostly straight holes, light rough, and few bunkers and water hazards. The course's primary defense is its length, with many par 4's stretching upwards of 400 yards.
Jamestown Park is home to the Ragsdale High School and Southwest Guilford High School men's and women's golf teams, and hosts numerous junior tournaments annually, including the 2021 NCHSAA 4A Men's Golf Regional Championship.
