The eighth is the a par 4 that plays back against the previous hole. The clear, prominent danger is the length of out-of-bounds along the entire left side. The tee shot also brings a tree on the left into play for shorter hitter, and water long-right for longer hitters.
Missing right is much safer than left, but it will require player to play over water to the green, rather than the much more straightforward shot from the fairway.
The right and back sides of the green are quite dangerous. There is a large bunker short-right, and the entire right and back rough kick down to the water.
The risk-reward on this hole is high. Two conservative shots to the green should be very feasible to control, but the risky tee shot to the left-side of the fairway, if well executed, leaves a real chance of a birdie putt.
Note: be aware of drives coming in from the seventh tee when moving to your ball. The eighth fairway is directly in line with the standard miss off that tee.
