The Wawona Golf Course is a fun historic golf course on the grounds of Yosemite National Park. The conditions on the course are much longer than on most courses, and more closely resemble course conditions of the historic era of the hotel across the street.
There are certainly a few very interesting holes on the course: notably holes one, five, and seven. The course is open from early May to late October. The course is inexpensive, rarely crowded, and tee times are not required. So it may be a fun options for folks visiting the area.
Established in 1918, Yosemite’s Wawona Golf Course has been challenging golfers ever since. Designed to blend into the gorgeous surroundings, this nine-hole, par-35 course measures 3,050 yards and includes two par-five holes and three par-three holes. Different tee positions per side provide a par-70, 18-hole format.
The golf course is one of the few organic golf courses in the United States. No pesticides are applied to the course and only reclaimed gray water is used for watering the greens.
A superb course for golfers of all levels, you’ll enjoy the varied terrain, challenging holes and unspoiled natural surroundings of Yosemite’s distinguished course.
