The first hole is a par five and is very interesting.
The hole plays uphill and moves slightly left. The fairway tilts left, away from the direction of the hole, and the position of the green. This presents an interesting challenge for the player: how much should they play the ball against the left edge to shorten the hole without risking ending up in the native grasses.
The benched green is perched at the top of the hill, it has a mild slope that pushes balls down the slope that land too close to the front and right edge.
