The 11th features another blind tee shot, with another aiming stone signalling the general line of play. The fairway is enormous, and spans across the second hole as well, but bunkering leaves a narrower section straight off the tee. There is much more room on the left than the right, even if the left leaves a more complex approach.
The fairway has more than a few contours, which can complicate the approach, but generally speaking, the approach should be straight forward with a good shot. The biggest risk is playing the ball too far into the lagoon behind the green. There are a series of parallel rolling contours short of the green, running shots will glide over these swales until reaching the green, where as higher shots coming in from above will hit these contours and lead to irregulars runouts.
The green itself is has a large, “T” shaped contour, and appears to be a kind of inverted maiden green. The most challenging pin positions will likely be behind the contour that moves perpendicular to the line of play, as it will force plays to contend with falling off the back of the green for a good look at birdie.
Note: this is the only completely original C.B. Macdonald hole on the course.
