The 12th is a long par 4 that plays to an elevated punchbowl green based on McIver’s Country Life Lido contest entry.
The tee shot plays over the lagoon. There is a raised triangle shape in the landing zone, which rewards aggressive shots, sending them toward the hole, and rejects shots that are too cautious, kicking them away. This kick can be the difference between and easy shot in, and having to lay up.
The approach plays over a huge wall with two bunkers below. The green here is blind but sits in a deep punch bowl.
On the green, there is a channel across the back of the green that can leak off the green, but other than that, it’s fairly friendly.
Aggressive play will be rewarded here if it’s executed well. Fail to execute, though, and the punishments will be serious.
