Forthview is arguably the most strategic hole on the course, and also the most beautiful. The woods to the left of the teeing area may hide the biggest danger, the strong westerly winds. If the wind is blowing, the entire hole will be effected.

The hole is a slight dogleg right, but there are three fairway bunkers along the turn of the fairway. All the fairway bunkers should be reachable by different levels of players, so any wind pushing shots rightward will be a major danger.

The ideal approach to the green is from the left side of the fairway, as a large bunker guards the right side of the green.

When the wind is up, the hole plays long, and is one of the most challenging.
