Hole 8 begins with the longest tee shot over OB on the entire course, and the relatively narrow fairway only complicates matters even further. Additionally, the green (which is protected by bunkers on the left and right) lies on an uphill dogleg whose slope begins after a creek about 80 yards out. All of this, combined with the hole’s overall length, creates a par 4 where even hitting the green in regulation is no small feat.
The green has undulation and a significant slope towards the creek, but the main complication is that it tends to play substantially slower than any other on the course.
