Hole 15 Discussion

Likely the most scenic tee shot on the course, the 15th tee provides a deserving break from the previous few holes. It offers massive potential for a well struck ball along the right edge of the fairway, as the short grass generally feeds right-to-left. There is the possibility to go through the fairway on the left side if hit long, and to lose the ball if hooked off the edge of the fairway. The right side has residential properties lining the top of a moderately steep hill that may feed down down to the fairway if the top is not reached. If the top is reached and the shot is not blocked, it offers a dramatically downhill approach into a well defended green. From the fairway, the straight approach shot is protected by a bunker with two tall pines behind it before the obscured green could be reached below. Slightly right and beyond that bunker is an additional greenside bunker hiding out of sight. Barely visible (depending on the angle) is the pond off the green’s left, waiting for a greedy hooked approach. A layup area sits to the right at the end of the fairway that has a steep slope left of it, feeding to the front collection area before the green or the front greenside bunker. A layup that stays in the fairway offers a shot over that greenside bunker down to the large green, or to the bunker to the back right of it. The green is potentially receptive, seeming significantly more back-to-front than it truly is, which definitely factors into the putting. A tempting risk-reward opportunity that has a decent chance of paying out if played correctly with two precise shots.
