Yet another decently long par 4 with a potentially challenging green. Off the tee, there is an immediate visual of waste area to carry which is foreshadowing. There is a strong chance a very well struck drive by a longer hitter is rewarded with a waste area that sprawls the third quarter of the hole, shortening the fairway. There is a sliver of room beyond the right edge of the fairway for those that are unwilling to sacrifice distance at their own risk. The fairway is relatively wide and inviting, but the hole becomes significantly longer as length is sacrificed. A large pine on the left side threatens approach shots from the left edge of the fairway and beyond. The front half of the green slopes subtly to the front, while the back half “helps” those trying to reach it by almost ensuring they get past it to the rough, or down the slope of the imperceivable drop behind it. Luckily, all the sand was used before the green, but that doesn’t necessarily help. The green winds on long putts, often with double-breaks, or some further in the same direction.
