Hole 8 Discussion

The hardest hole on the course is also the BEST. This dog-left Par 4 is a true test of golf. Drives trying to cut the corner can be swept up in the fairway bunker making reaching the green in regulation very difficult. Even drives located in the fairway will most likely be uneven lies, with long irons into a well guarded and well sloped green.

Three large bunkers surround the green. The green is two tiered making approach shots difficult to get close. Putting on the greens present another challenge as surrounding undulations can play tricks on your eyes. Don’t go long, left or right – because the elevated green slopes quickly away.

Par is a GREAT score here.

Course description above is totally accurate. Par is an excellent score. Hole is definitely hardest on the course and basically acts like a big brother to #4 (also a par 4). Fades/Slices will turn this into a 3 shot hole. Even if you clear the bunker on the left on your drive, you’ve still got a big poke to get to the green. Back tees on this hole make it play extremely long.

The ideal second shot runs up onto the green. There is nowhere to miss that’s ideal besides short. Plenty of people will miss 20-30 yards short and then get up and down for par and be happy.
