Hole 17 Discussion

Hole #17 is much easier than it looks like on paper. The large down-slope and friendly wind should help you reach the green with a strong mid-iron.

The tee shot requires careful club selection. The biggest danger is flying the green into the waste area behind the hole. Depending on wind, you may need to take off a club’s worth of distance, maybe two, maybe even three. Be wary of not lining up with the tee box, as this mistake will send your shot well left.

At this distance, with a lower trajectory, nearly everything will take a rightward path as it crosses the green, so the shot must guide the ball toward the left side as it lands if at all possible.
