Hole 14 is a long par 4 that really makes life difficult for golfers who hit the ball from left to right. Often playing 400+ yards from the tips, the tee shot comes out of a chute which isn't really angled toward the fairway. A ball straight down the center of the chute will basically follow the cart path through the right rough. Any miss right of the cart path is problematic, because even if it stays on the right side of the fence and avoids the hazard, the rough there is often quite thick and leaves you without a good angle to the green. The chute makes it difficult to really fade the ball into the fairway, so a draw is really the optimal play here. There's also a large oak tree and a massive bunker on the left to punish you for overcorrecting in the other direction, though. The green features a large (about 50 yards long) false front, and is rimmed with trees and hills. The false front is really the only good place to miss; however, if you're way left off the tee, you can often play the ball down the 15th hole to the 15th teeing area (assuming it's vacant, of course) and chip through a window in the trees onto the 14th green. The green has several undulations that make lag putting quite difficult, so make sure to look at this one from both sides before you hit your putt. In the spring, the cherry blossoms ringing the green are beautiful, although the flower petals add some difficulty to an already tough putt. This is one of the tougher pars on the course, and a bogey isn't the end of the world here.
