The ninth is a wide, dogleg right par 4. The tee shot is threatened by water on both sides, and a long drive is require to get a position where the trees along the dogleg are not blocking access to the green. The tee shot very obviously favors left-to-right movement, as there are gentle slopes on the left side of the fairway that could be unfriendly to shots trickling left. The fairway is also not too deep, so longer hitter should be careful not to fly the fairway into the long grass.
The approach plays into a green with two very distinct areas of the green. The front and center mostly receive the ball well, but the back runs away, and back-right pin positions will be very challenging.
