The Eden is a template of High (In) from the Old Course at St Andrews. The hole features the channel acting as the Eden river, a mirrored Hill bunker left, Cockleshell bunker short, and a split Strath bunker short-right of the green.
The main idea of this hole is focus on a pin tucked behind the Strath bunker. A shot that plays past this pin will have a nearly impossible downhill putt, that will likely end up in the bunker. However keeping it below the hole means taking on the bunker off the tee. So, with this pin position, players will have to deal with that Strath sooner or later, and it’s a dangerous bunker indeed.
