Based on the 11th at National Golf Links of America, on the second, players will encounter their first blind tee shot. There is a rock marking the line of play.
The approach will depend on hole location, as this double plateau green will play different for different pin locations. Generally speaking though, the bunkers create a semi-blind approach, and while the principal’s nose bunker typically features in a double plateau hole, it is mostly out of play here, simply because fronting bunkers require a full carry to the green.
The green features a large plateau on the left side, with a channel separating it from a smaller plateau on the back-right, both plateaus bring then potential to lose the ball off the back into the channel. A pin in the front-right of the green will be much more accessible, and allows players to bail out short-right.
