Hole 6 Discussion

Granton is a heavily bunkered par 5, but most of the bunkers shouldn’t be in play. The tee shot plays out with a bunker on the right side, and trees wide left. Playing in two is problematic as there is a large bunker blocking access to the green, and the green, itself, is particularly inhospitable to shots from distance.

The second should bring a bunker on the left into play, and there are trees that can punish a miss to the right side.

If you’re in the fairway, the approach shot should be straight forward. The green bulges at the front and back, and pinches in the center. The pinch point is bunkered on both sides. Aim here to the front or back for the best approach to the pin to keep the bunkers out of play.
