Hole 18 Discussion

Parkway is a monster of a finishing hole. At nearly 600 yards, uphill, often into the wind, the player has a lot of work to do. The tee shot is fairly open. Try to keep it in the fairway, but hit it as far as possible. There is a fairway bunker on the right side to be aware of, about 240 yards out, so it will likely be out of range for most players.

Even with a good drive, the second drive can be quite technical. The shot is uphill, and the fairway slopes left-to-right strongly here. There is another fairway bunker on the right side, just short of a group of trees, where the fairway narrows. Ideally, one can play up the hill and land it in that gap safely.

The approach shot from here, will likely still be a long iron with the below your feet. A third fairway bunker will catch anything you try and run onto the green, so you’ll likely need to get it up in the air, correcting for both your stance, and the wind. If you’re on the green in regulation, it means you played the hole exquisitely.
