Hole 3 Discussion

The third at Sharp Park, Camouflage, is the first that truly challenges the golfer. The green plays best from the left side of the fairway, but out of bounds is there to punish anything that moves too far left. Anything off the tee to the right will make the approach difficult. Anything too far to the right may necessitate a punch back into the fairway.

The green is defended on both sides with deep bunkers. From the ideal, left side, the shot has the full length of the green to come to a stop. From the right side, first the player will have to deal with overhanging trees, and may have to play the ball low and add motion because there are also two bunkers blocking any direct low approach.

The last thing to note is that anything long may be lost, and this green also slopes back to front, so playing back to the hole from past the green can be especially difficult.

When leaving to Hole 4, you’ll need to pass Hole 8, turn left, and cross under the highway to the canyon.
