Ghost, the 12th, welcomes players to the ocean. This long par 3 is the first hole where the links style cannot be ignored. The distance, the narrow window, and strong prevailing winds are all major factors to this hole.
If the winds are up, they will dominate the tee shot. Players may be lulled into a false sense of security in the lower, and tree lined tee boxes. Both the hole and the player are positioned well below any wind. The narrow window of the hourglass shaped hole will limit options to shape the shot.
The small, dramatically sloping green will still be a challenge to those who reach in regulation. Downhill putts here can be some of the most difficult on the course.
