The 16th starts off with a faux-blind shot over a creek, where the fairway continues straight just below the top of the shrubs. In high headwinds, players may want to lay up here, but that will make reaching the green in two nearly impossible. The ideal tee shot favors the right side, which will give players a good look at the green.
On the approach, there is a large tree on the left that can obscure and complicate things. One thing to note is that the green runs away from the ideal approach, so a high shot will be more likely to hold the green.
A most challenging hole. The carry from the Black is 200 yards, from the Blue is 185. The shortest carry is on the right side of the fairway; this leaves the best angle to the green. The second shot should favor the right side, with the front and left side lined by a lateral water hazard.
