Golf Course Architect, Floyd Farley was selected to design and construct the golf course in 1960, at the same time Ernie Vossler became the first PGA Head Golf Professional. Quail Creek has been called home by only 5 other PGA Head Golf Professionals in its 60+ year history.
Quail Creek Golf and Country Club has played host to many prestigious events in the past that include: the Oklahoma City Open from 1962-68 (won by Arnold Palmer in 1964 and Tony Lema in 1966). The club hosted the Southwestern Bell Golf Classic in 1987, and the Silver Pages from 1988-90 which was some of the earlier tournaments on the Champions Tour.
