Hole 7 is a par 4 with an incredibly narrow tee shot. Overhanging trees impose on both side above a narrow fairway. You can only fly the ball in a very small area, with almost no room for error.
The approach is a blind or semi-blind shot over a ridge line to a green that can’t be seen.
The green slopes mostly back-to-front. Again, the green is helpful with ridges at the edges, even as the bunker on the left is cut directly into it. The green does slope off left in the front, and the putting surface in this area can be quite challenging.
The hole was originally wide open, but a death in 1955, when a player on #8 was struck by an errant tee shot lead to the course adding trees that create the narrow corridor. (The Rocky Mountain News (Daily), Volume 96, Number 244, September 1, 1955)
