Hole 12 Discussion

Heathery (In) is a short par 4, that looks like there is no trouble, but nothing could be further from the truth. The hole is peppered with bunkers all through the center of the fairway. The Admiral’s bunker short, the Stroke bunker about 120 yards from the green, and three other pot bunkers forward and on the right. The safe tee shot is controlled, and to the left side.

The green has two distinct ridges. A pin on the back ridge is more challenging, as the green can kick toward the back of the green in some areas.

“The game’s best short two shotter. There are so many options off the tee. Again though the green is the key – its shallow rear shelf falling away on all sides remains as fresh a challenge today as it did to Allan Robertson 125 years ago.”
