This minimally maintained golf course on the Isle of Iona, just west of the Isle of Mull, is the home to the Honourable Company of Iona Golfers. The course in know for the fact that the sheep keep the grass short, and the greens are not cut as short as standard greens. The style of golf here is the same is it was in the early days of golf.
The first eleven holes are known as the competition holes, as they are the holes played in the Iona Open, which plays these eleven holes, then the two worst scores are dropped, leaving a nine hole score.
