One of the oldest golf courses in Sussex
Designed in 1914 by legendary golf architect, designer of Gleneagles and Carnoustie and five times winner of the Open Championship, James Braid, the downland course consists of fast-running fairways, undulating greens and dramatic changes of elevation in the downland valleys and hills which are both a treat and a challenge to true golf fans.

Renowned for its immaculate condition and challenging layout, this beautiful course has hosted golfing greats such as former Golf At Goodwood Ambassador Justin Rose, Ian Poulter, Luke Donald and Colin Montgomerie to name a few.
The Downs has undergone a renovation by leading golf architect Tom Mackenzie to retain the essential character of Braid’s concept while providing a challenge for the modern game for both amateurs and professionals alike.
