Hole 14 Discussion

With a stroke index of 2, the 14th hole is an absolute monster with potential for very high numbers.

The hole is long, and when the wind is up it will play even longer. To play for par, the tee shot must get through a narrow section and reach the fairway. The out of bounds on the far left is obvious danger, but it likely the trees will knock down anything in that direction. The trees on the right side are much more intrusive. Finally, even a well placed drive can easily roll into the fairway bunker on the left.

Playing for bogey will be a much more reasonable approach for many. Simply taking a mid-iron off the tee will take the vast majority of danger out of the hole, though, obviously, the hole will be totally unreachable in two shots.

The approach shot can be anywhere from a 130 yard short iron to a 200 yard shot into the elevated green. Depending on position, different strategies will have their merits. A par on this hole is something to be proud of.
