The 9-hole Mount St. Helena Golf Course remains closed because of liability created by trees damaged in the October windstorm that fueled area wildfires and the inability to find a tree service company to mitigate the hazards, officials said.

Carlene Moore, CEO of the Napa County Fairgrounds that oversees the golf course operations, presented a budget to the Napa County Fair Association board a week ago that did not include the golf course. The course has been closed since Oct. 8, the day that devastating wildfires hit the area.
