Hole 1 Discussion

Hole 1 is a relatively straightforward par 4, which generally plays about 350 yards from the tips. The only major issue is the large birch tree in front of the green to the right. You have almost unlimited room to bail out to the right, thanks to the 18th fairway being right next door, but a miss to the left of the path can be tricky due to the trees which line the hole on that side. The ideal place to put your drive is on the left side of the fairway at whatever your comfortable wedge distance is. You do not want to be above the hole because the green is on a downslope, and you definitely do not want to miss this green long, or your chip coming back will be very difficult to stop.
