Reconhecido como um dos melhores do mundo o campo carioca recebeu da revista americana Golf Digest, a mais importante do segmento, o prêmio anual Green Star Award 2016. Pela primeira vez, um campo fora dos Estados Unidos conquistou a premiação, que avalia o cuidado ecológico no projeto. Além disso o Rio OGC possui certificação de excelência ambeintal da certificadora internacional GEO.
