On 29th of September 1904 Mrs Carnegie of Skibo opened Bonar Bridge, Ardgay Golf Club. Set in some of the most spectacular scenery in Sutherland with Rolling Hills, Purple Heather, Scots pine and views over Loch Migdale. Peter Alliss describes Bonar ”as a mini Gleneagles”.
A nine-hole blend of heath and moorland, Bonar Bridge is generally considered one of the most beautiful courses in the Highlands. The narrow tree-lined fairways require straight driving, while the small, hard-to-read greens will confuse even the most gifted of players.
