Juniper is the lowest index hole on the front nine. It’s a fairly straight forward down hill par 3. The hole is much more interesting if the pin is in the back left position, which is effectively a mound. This presents a straight-forward, if challenging two-putt, but players playing for birdie risk running off the green in the back and left, which leaves a challenging chip up, which may put them back on the lower section of the green.
“There are lots of trouble spots, but the worst is probably way long. From there, you can easily chip it back down all the way off the green. Before you know it, you’ve made a quick 5 or 6.”
“It’s an interesting hole. It’s so downhill, and then they always have two pins on the top right. It’s like trying to land it on the hood of a car, really, from 175 or 180. There isn’t a good spot to miss it. It’s one of those ones where you are kind of forced into hitting a great shot.”
