Hole 9 Discussion

The 9th is a very complex hole. It’s starts with a raised fairway, to a tight dogleg left, followed by a steep incline to the green. The tee shot should be about position. The approach will be a complex shot, so anything that will simplify that is advised. Getting past the dogleg is definitely helpful, but only if the ball isn’t kicked too far to the right side.

The approach will, at best, be a delicate pitch. The green is surrounded by unplayable areas, so control is very important here.

The green slopes dramatically back to front, so getting it close will be rewarded, but if you miss, it’s best to miss below the hole. Note that shots with significant spin could potentially spin off the green.
