The 9th is an uphill, dogleg right par 4 that plays back to the clubhouse. The tee shot is key, as players need to reach the corner, that two large fairway bunkers guard. Missing left will be a huge problem, as trees on the left can completely block the approach.
The approach shot is to an elevated green, sloping away on three sides. The entire area is peppered with bunkers, so there isn’t really a safe place to miss.
“Tiger Woods played the ninth 4 over par in 2001; his high spinning wedges continually found trouble on the steeply pitched green.”
