The first at Sea Ranch will be a 3 shot hole for more conservative players, but a gettable par 3 for longer drivers in good conditions. The tee shot plays to a slight dogleg with trees. Staying right of these trees is key to players trying to reach the green in three, but those playing for the green in two should attack the corner to get the runout beyond, just make sure to get the carry distance to the tree and check the wind.
For players trying to reach the green in two, a long downhill shot to a narrow green follows. The shot favors left-to-right movement due to the slope of the fairway, and trees on the right side, and water left near the green.
For players taking three shots, the second shot will likely be about staying left of the fairway bunker on the right side for a good angle to the green. The approach from here favors the front of the green, as the green slopes back-to-front.
This is a 3 shot hole under most conditions, especially into the NW prevailing wind. A tee shot over 200 yards towards the right-hand waste bunker is best. Tree protects the left side above the left-hand waste bunker.
