The first hole is a pretty straightforward par 4. There is water on the right side as you approach the hole, and a fairway bunker on the left blocking a conservative play down the left side, with out-of-bounds on the far-left. The winds will complicate any drive, but ending up on the left side is ideal for the approach.
The shot into the green is more treacherous than it looks, as both sides of the green slope down and away significantly. There is also a bunker short-right, and water for shots that miss significantly short.
The green slopes back-right to short-left along the length of the green.
