The 2nd is a downhill par 4 that plays shorter than it looks on the scorecard. Here, there is a tree, about 250 yards from the back cut, blocking direct access to the green. The tee shot leaves the player with a few choices: shot it straight under the tree, and significantly shorten the hole, or play a safe standard fade right of the tree to the large landing area. Either tee shot should leave a straightforward wedge into the green. No matter what you do, don’t end up behind the tree.
The approach plays over water, and there is a large bunker on the left side. This bunker is especially dangerous for those behind the tree that need to move their ball right-to-left, but it also makes left-side pin placements more dangerous.
