The last of Egan’s holes is an extremely long, tough par 3. The shot is over 200 yards long, and likely into a headwind. The biggest danger off the tee is the out-of-bounds on the right side, suggesting a low shot to take the wind out of play. Compounding this is trees reaching out from the left side suggest a shot played right-to-left. However, A mound guards the front-right of the green.
Once on the green, the subtle contours can be confounding. It mostly slopes back-right to front, but there are multiple areas of variation. A par on this hole is something to be very happy with.
“Played directly into the prevailing wind, this long par three measures over 200 yards and demands a solid drive to reach the putting surface. Made easier by a family of deer who routinely lounge in the stand of trees on the left side of the fairway, a par on this hole can jumpstart your scoring heading out the back nine. Don’t let the deer lull you to sleep, however, as the subtle breaks on this green can lead to bogey or worse.”
