The first hole is a firm handshake. This par 4s tee shot is defined by a large fairway bunker on the right side. Playing left makes it safer to add length, but brings the front-left greenside bunker into the approach.
An approach from the left side requires a high shot into the firm green to clear the bunker, from the right side of the fairway, it’s possible to roll up onto the green.
There is also a grass bunker on the right side of the green that will swallow up anything that doesn’t clear it.
