Hogan's hole is arguably the most interesting hole on the course. The tee shot plays downhill to a water hazard, then requires a long, uphill shot to a semi-volcano green.
The water, while downhill, will be too far out for most to cross. To carry the water from the whites is at least 290 yards and 305 yards from the blues. On the other hand, the downhill fairway will allow more conservative shots to run out, down to near the hazard. Playing conservatively can be rewarding.
A well placed tee shot short of the water will be about 130 yards to the center of the green, but the green quite a bit uphill. The trees may leave a narrow window for some. Any approach that misses right will be severely punished, and can kick 30+ yards downhill.
Players should be quite happy to walk away from this hole with a par.
There is a storm shelter near the tees.
