Hole 18 Discussion

Hole 18 brings you home with a long-ish but straight and fairly open par 4. The elevated tee boxes are much more interesting than the lower ones, and you may want to give the upper boxes a try even if the tees are on the lower box. You have plenty of room to bail out to the right thanks to the presence of the 1st fairway, but misses to the left run the risk of encountering the large birch tree between the 18th and 10th fairways. For your approach shot, the ideal miss is short and in front; misses to the left or right will put you on the 10th or 1st tee boxes, respectively, and facing angry golfers in addition to a daunting flop shot over the trees. There is also a bunker to the right of the green, along with the cartpath, trees, and, eventually, the driving range fence beyond the green, so club down and avoid going long at all costs. The green itself slopes gently from back to front, although putts along the side of the hill can be surprisingly wobbly. Finishing your day with a par is doable, but not guaranteed by any means.
