This straight, reachable par 5 offers a great scoring opportunity, provided you hit a good drive. The bunkers on the right are likely in play off the tee, and the slope behind them kicks into the woods, so stay down the left side, as the bunkers there should not be reachable. Any shot hooked may end up in the rough or fairway of the 7th hole, but will be playable.
Layups should also favor the left side. There is a solid gap beyond the last set of bunkers between 10 and 80 yards to the green that provides a safe landing and solid angle towards the green. The right side has a nasty set of bunkers at this distance and kicks right into the woods. Ideally approach this green from the left so that the short greenside bunker does not impede.
The green slopes from back to front, although it is an easier green than most of the earlier ones. A pin in the front is gettable with limited hazards, while a pin on the right is on a very small tier guarded by the bunker and the steep slope to the right. There is a steep slope to a swale behind the green; if you find yourself here you are almost guaranteed not to get up and down.
