The third is a mid-length par 3. The shot plays downhill and there are trees on the left, favoring a standard draw, but it’s not that simple. The green completely falls off on the left side. If a shot comes in hot and toward the left, there is a small gap in the back left of the green that can funnel the ball off and disastrously down the hill.
There is a big hill with a tree on the right-side, and playing off this hill (even short-right) could be a safer play for those afraid of attacking the green. If the shot hits the hill and it’s dry, there’s a good chance of it kicking on. Shots that play too far will get knocked down by the tree, and may get a lucky kick on as well.
