The 18th par 5 finisher is an archetype of a Crystal Springs hole. The sloped fairways and greenside bunkers that catch the stander miss are both in play here.
The tee shot is pretty open. Again, there is out-of-bounds along the far left side. There’s a fairway bunker long right that players may need to worry about, but only if they are longer hitters. There is a second fairway bunker long left, but it shouldn’t be in play for most players.
The fairway slopes left-to-right, and the intensity of the slope increases as it gets closer to the green.
The final approach shot into the green features two huge bunkers on the short-right side of the green, ideally placed to catch pushed shots below the players feet. However, players can play into the hillside left of the green when it’s dry and have their ball trickle down onto the green with any luck.
The green itself slopes back-left to front-right, and is challenging if you’re above the hole.
