Hole one is a fairly complex opening hole. There is out-of-bounds on both sides and the tee shot is downhill, especially if you hit a long drive. The fairway slopes strongly left-to-right, but players can use this slope, as most will want to be on the right side of the fairway on the approach shot. There are a couple of trees on the left side that will block direct access to the green, so try and stay to the right.
The green is guarded by a deep bunker short-right, which will grab the standard miss from players playing shots below their feet. This will be a theme through much of the course. When there is an obvious uneven lie, check whether there is a bunker designed exactly for it.
The green slopes mostly back-to-font, but slightly left-to-right. The back of the green is flat and shots played long can run off.
