Hole 18 Discussion

The 18th is a par 5 peppered with fairway bunkers, which will likely be define by the second shot. The tee shot brings the first fairway bunker, on the right side, into play for the longest hitters. There is a dip short of that bunker that will push shots to the right.

Players attempting to reach the green in three will need to send their second shot up into a fairway with three large bunkers. The fairway here starts pushing strongly to the right, toward the green. This should give players some extra distance, but will bring the front-right greenside bunker more into play.

Players going for the green in two will likely need to aim left of the green, and hope to get a generous kick on, but this strategy will be quite dangerous.

The green itself is flanked on all sides with bunkers. There are some subtle contours that will make longer putts challenging, but staying out of the bunkers should be players primary concern.

Originally the bunker pattern on what is now our 18th hole was the bunker pattern on the first hole, which is gone, cause it was out in the freeway… it’s one hole over, so we’ve co-opted the type of bunker pattern.
